About

The Schools and Libraries Support Mechanism of the Universal Service Program, popularly known as "E-Rate," is currently funded with $2.25+ billion per year.  As of this time the e-rate program has funded all successfully completed requests for Telecommunications and Internet Access (Priority 1 services).  In addition, the E-Rate program has funded many schools and libraries around the country for Internal Connections and Maintenance Services (Priority 2 services).  Whether a school is funded for Priority 2 services is dependent upon the school's/district's free and reduced lunch (or other approved poverty indicator).

This means that EVERY funding eligible institution that has completed the request process has been able to receive the benefits of the E-Rate program.  The program, as with many governmental programs, is heavy on paperwork and procedures. Elite Fund, Inc. was founded with the sole goal of bringing the benefits of the E-Rate program to any and all eligible institutions by assisting with the preparation, filing, and step by step follow- through of the complete E-Rate process.

• Nicki Hansen, Assistant Account Manager, has thirty years of teaching experience in public education which has allowed her to become very people-oriented.  Her efficiency and organization skills provide an important support service to Elite Fund, Inc.

• Janelle Morgan, Account Manager, worked for a large pharmaceutical company as a technical writer for 12 years. Her attention to detail, customer service focus, and writing experience significantly enhance Elite Fund's capacity to meet the needs of its clients.

•  Michon Wiesen, Account Manager, worked for an Intermediate School District and a local governmental agency.  She has also served on a local school board.  Her grant writing and review knowledge as well as her business experience provide valuable expertise for Elite Fund, Inc.

• George Winchell has 41 years of experience in public education. He has taught and served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction and as Director of Technology. He was a consultant with Michigan Virtual High School and teaches for Central Michigan University.  He is recognized statewide as a leader in the use of technology in instruction. Recently, he teaches the Summer School Technology Program for Kamehameha Schools in Hawaii.  He has been successfully helping schools and libraries with the E-Rate program since its start in 1998.
